EBONIZED EASEL FRAME WITH FABRIC MAT Circa 1875 A rare frame from the Aesthetic era with a splendid fabric mat. This frame, no doubt made to hold a cabinet card, has an ebonized surface with elaborate spoon-carved decoration. The mat is decorated with contrasting velvet and gathered satin, with a fancy ribbon running diagonally from bottom-left to top-right.
