Mary Webster--Federal Stock #6 SULLY STYLE
Circa 1835


  • Handsome Sully frame in bright yellow gold leaf over a pale brown bole. The molding cants upward toward the outside edge in typical Sully fashion. It is finished off with a convex detail, which is reflected on the concave outer edge of the frame. The raised element on the sight edge is a separate molding that overlaps the main molding. Early brass hanging hook. Unpainted outside edges.

  • Sight size 10 1/2" square
  • Molding width 3"
  • Molding height at outside edge 1 3/4"
  • Condition: very good with gesso losses along the outside edges, as shown in the detail photos. This molding may have be resized at some point long ago. The outside edges show traces of old gold overpaint.
