SULLY STYLE Circa 1835 Handsome Sully frame in bright yellow gold leaf over a pale brown bole. The molding cants upward toward the outside edge in typical Sully fashion. It is finished off with a convex detail, which is reflected on the concave outer edge of the frame. The raised element on the sight edge is a separate molding that overlaps the main molding. Early brass hanging hook. Unpainted outside edges. Rabbet size 10 7/8" square Outside dimensions 16 1/2" square Sight size 10 1/2" square Molding width 3" Molding height at outside edge 1 3/4" Condition: very good with gesso losses along the outside edges, as shown in the detail photos.
