Mary Webster--Folk Art Stock #4 GRAIN-PAINTED FRAME
Circa 1840


  • Another excellent frame, joined with square-headed nails and then grained in radiating variations on black and red. Mitered corners. The sides are painted red, and there are holes, center-top, through which a hanging wire or ribbon once was threaded. The simple profile cants inward toward the sight edge.
  • Outside dimensions 16 1/2"H x 14 1/2"W
  • Rabbet size 14"H x 12"W
  • Molding width 1 1/2"
  • Height at outside edge 7/8"
  • Condition: very good with old but probably not original finish.
