  • A massive painting frame in red walnut with a wide ogee-shaped liner in silver gilt. The liner is stenciled with a fluted cover pattern in imitation of gold leaf painting frames of the period. The walnut has ebonized highlights.
  • Rabbet size 20 1/2"H x 17 1/2"W
  • Molding width 4"
  • Depth at outside edge 3"
  • Sight size 20"H x 17"W
  • Condition: nice early finish; age appropriate wear with some wear along the high edge of the walnut molding and small gesso losses on the liner; note one spot on the liner where the gilding has worn away to show the tan-colored bole beneath.
