Circa 1850


  • Pair of frames in brilliant silver gilt; ogee profiles; the matte surface of the silver-gilded cove contrasts with the burnished surfaces to either side; mitered corners; outside edges painted in matte mustard-colored paint. The frames appear to be in their original sizes.
  • Rabbet size 12 3/8 "H x 10 5/8"W
  • Molding width 2 1/4"
  • Molding depth 1 1/2"
  • Sight size 11 1/2" x 9 7/8"
  • Overall size 15 3/4"H x 14"W
  • Condition: very good with minor surface damage commensurate with the age of the frame. Tiny gesso losses in the outside corners and along outside edges, the largest 1/4" long.
