Circa 1860

  • Deep red walnut frame with a wide coved liner in silver gilt. The walnut has ebonized highlights. The liner is ornamented with a spotted leopard pattern in imitation of gold leaf painting frames of the period.
  • Rabbet size size 17"H x 14"W
  • Sight size 16 1/2"H x 13 1/2"W
  • Molding width 2 1/4"
  • Depth at outside edge 2 1/2"
  • Condition: nice early finish; age appropriate wear with small gesso losses along the sight edge and some wear along the high edge of the walnut.
