Mary Webster--Mid Nineteenth Century Stock #9 SILVER GILT WITH STENCILLED COVE
Circa 1865


  • Excellent example of this classic Victorian style in a standard size. Two different stencilled patterns, one in the form of a leafy vine running down the cove, the other along the sight edge. They are separated by plain areas of highly burnished gilt. There are remains of dull mustard-colored paint along the outside edges. Mitered corners.
  • Rabbet size 16 x 20" plus allowance
  • Sight size 19 3/8"H x 15 1/8"W
  • Molding width 3"
  • Molding depth at outside edge 2"
  • Condition: very good condition with tarnish marks characteristic of silver gilt; minor gesso losses on the outside corners.
