Mary Webster--Miniature Stock #14 GOLD LEAF WITH TWISTED ROPE
Circa 1810


  • Rare early molding with the classic twisted rope tacked into the cove. The outside edge are painting dull ochre and they are flat, rising to a squared-off top. The corners are mitered and the outside edges are painted dull ochre. There is a tiny wire loop for hanging at the top.
  • Rabbet size 4 7/8"H x 3 7/8"W
  • Molding width 3/4"
  • Molding height at outside edge 7/8"
  • Sight size 4 1/2"H x 3 1/2"W
  • Condition: very good with age appropriate wear. There is old, old varnish over the original gold leaf. Some of the miter nails appear to have been replaced. The frame may have been resized at some point in its long history.
